In the past decade, 180 children from Iraq alone, have been brought to Israel for life saving operations
5 month old Yussuf, suffering from a congenital heart disease, began his journey to Tel Aviv’s Wolflson hospital, from Iraq. An Iraqi humanitarian organization, arranged to transport Yussuf, yasmar and kabar, who also suffer from heart disease, along with their mothers, on a plane via Jordan. There they waited for three days, in terrible heat, with Yussuf in distress. Dr. Zion Chori explained that the three Iraqi children arrived, in critical condition and were immediately sent to the ICU.
Yussuf’s mother said that they brought him to hospital many times due to his trouble breathing.
Government minister, Silvan Shalom says that as Jews we have a duty to save each and every life.
Save a Child’s Heart, an Israeli organization, which coordinates life saving operation for children from developing countries, is responsible for saving these children’s lives.
